赵公明 Zhào Gōngmíng

The first God of Wealth is Zhao Gongming. In the novel of Feng-Shen Bang (The Bulletin Board of Delegated Gods which is talking about the rise of Chou Dynasty 1045 BC to 256 BC), Zhao Gongming was in charge of business of gold, sliver, and jewelry. Because of his position, Zhao Gongming became the God of Wealth in Chinese mind. Zhao Gongming was killed by the shooting arrows on this both eyes and heart. People said the God of Wealth is without eyes and heart, which means everyone has the chance to become millionaire from the blessing of the God of Wealth no matter you are rich or poor.

关羽 Guān Yǔ 

 

The popular God of Wealth is Guan Yu who was a general in Three Kingdom period (221 AD to 263 AD). His trademark is the red face, long beard, green battle uniform and 40-kilogram long broad blade weapon. People remembered his brave and fighting skill, faith, righteousness, loyalty to friends, and act of justice. More business persons worship him, because they need partners in business with righteous, trustful, loyal personalities. Also, the business people would like to win the business deal all the time like a ever-win General Guan. Therefore, Guan Yu became the God of Wealth.
